Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson has been downgraded to “questionable” for the team's Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

The Eagles did not officially designate Johnson with an injury on Friday, but listed him as questionable for the Cowboys game on Sunday morning. Johnson is dealing with a combination of knee and ankle injuries that has caused him to miss two games this season and large portions of several others.

Teams are required to reveal their inactive players 90 minutes before kickoff, which will come a little before 7 p.m. ET.

The relative good news for the banged-up Eagles is that veteran left tackle Jason Peters will return to the field on Sunday after a stint on injured reserve. Peters' presence gives head coach Doug Pederson the option of moving Jordan Mailata from left tackle to the right side if Johnson can't go.

The Eagles have been the most sacked team in football in 2020.

Johnson hasn’t been able to play 100 percent of Philly's offensive snaps since Week 3, per Bleeding Green Nation. With the team looking at a bye in Week 9, keeping Johnson out of the Sunday night game could give him extended recovery time before the season's homestretch.

Philadelphia had previously ruled out ruled out tackle Jack Driscoll (ankle), cornerback Craig James (hamstring), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf), cornerback Cre'von LeBlanc (quadricep), and running back Miles Sanders (knee) for the matchup with Dallas.

The Eagles improbably lead the abysmal NFC East with a 2-4-1 record through seven weeks, though the Cowboys (2-5) and Washington Football Team (2-5) remain close behind.
