Blount has put himself alongside some of Hall of Famers in the Emmitt Smith, Thurman Thomas, Franco Harris, Terrell Davis, John Riggins, and Marcus Allen. He has been as consistent as they come in the postseason as he has now tallied at least one rushing touchdown in each of his four trips.

Although Blount has been relegated to split carry duties this season, he helped anchor the league's best rushing attack 766 yards along with a pair of touchdowns while averaging 4.4 yards per carry. It marked the sixth time in his career that has recorded at least 750 rushing yards.

He has found a solid niche as being a bruising goal-line option throughout his career with the bulk of his touchdowns coming in those situations. It has helped him to continue to find work around the league with the Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tampa Buccaneers. This has helped provide a different dynamic to the backfield for the Eagles alongside Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement that helped make them the best rushing attack in the league.

This could be key in helping lift the Eagles past the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII to their first win. The franchise's last appearance on this stage of the playoffs occurred back in 2004 against the Patriots. They could have a favorable advantage on the ground as New England ranked 20th in rushing situations this season giving up 114.0 yards per game and 14 touchdowns.
