Sunday's heated meeting between Super Bowl contenders San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles got even hotter during one moment in the third quarter when Niners linebacker Dre Greenlaw had an altercation with Philly head of security Dom DiSandro that resulted in the former's ejection.

The skirmish happened after Greenlaw slammed Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith close to the Eagles sideline, sparking a reaction from the home team.

Even though Philadelphia ultimately lost the game, 42-19, despite Greenlaw's ejection, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni made sure to express his full support of DiSandro.

“Dom is as good as they get in this business,” the Eagles mentor said during Monday's press conference. “I'm so thankful for him. He is going to always try to defuse situations. That's what he does.  That's his job. Obviously, unfortunate yesterday, but I know in Dom's heart. He truly was trying to defuse the situation right there. I'm sad it came to what it came to that anybody got thrown out of the game.”

It remains unknown whether the NFL will hand out suspensions concerning the incident in the Eagles-49ers game, but there could be a good chance that the league will hand out a punishment.

In any case, the Eagles are still in a great position, as their loss to the 49ers was just their second overall in the 2023 NFL season. At 10-2, Philadelphia will look to bounce back right away from that loss when they visit the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington in Week 14.
