As the Philadelphia Eagles start a new era, one of their long-time stalwarts will continue building with them. Center Jason Kelce will return in 2022 after previously considering retirement.
One of Philadelphia's best stars sticking around is great news for the organization and the city. The Eagles are showing their admiration ad belief in him with a massive contract. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, they are making Kelce the highest-paid center for the 2022 season with a one-year contract worth $14 million.

Kelce has been to either the Pro Bowl, First-Team All-Pro or both in seven of the past eight years. The 34-year-old hasn't missed a game since 2015 and is one of the most impactful presence in the Eagles' locker room. Jalen Hurts, who helped lead the Eagles to the playoffs last season, is thrilled to have him back.

Kelce's contract puts him just over other star centers like Frank Ragnow and Corey Linsley. He has earned every bit of it for his resilience and fantastic play. Philadelphia's offensive line has always been a huge part of their success, both this season and during their Super Bowl 52 run. Kelce, the keystone of those rock solid units, has always been one of the Eagles' most important players.
Philadelphia posted a 9-8 record last season and could secure the NFC East next season with the right offseason moves. Keeping their captain and paying him handomsely is a great start.
