Philadelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver Devon Allen is just getting started in his NFL career, but he's already one of the more accomplished athletes on the team. Allen is a track and field superstar and was competing in the New York Grand Prix on Sunday, where he placed first in the 110m hurdles and set the third-fastest time in the event in track and field history, according to NBC Sports.
Yes, you read that correctly. The Eagles' 27-year-old rookie is one of the fastest people on the planet, and he showcased that on Sunday with his insane official 12.84-second 110-meter hurdle. His time was just 0.04 seconds off the all-time world record, which is held by Aries Merritt. Allen's time was faster than any 110-meter hurdle ever recorded at the Olympics, shining a bit more light on just how impressive his accomplishment was.

The Eagles' rookie was a two-star athlete at the University of Oregon, where he was an Olympic-level track star and a starter on the football team. In his best season, his sophomore year, Allen recorded 41 receptions, 684 yards, and 7 touchdowns as one of the Ducks' top receivers, playing alongside Marcus Mariota.
Allen signed a three-year deal with the Eagles this offseason. He's a blazing fast receiver, having logged an unofficial 4.35 40-yard dash at his showcase in Eugene, Oregon, to which 31 of 32 NFL teams showed up. The Eagles could have a special talent on their hands here, and hopefully, he can translate his unreal speed into some breakout plays on special teams or even on offense.
