To ensure their third straight visit to the postseason, the Philadelphia Eagles would need a win over the New York Giants on Sunday or a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Washington Redskins. The birds will attempt to decide their playoff fate without their top offensive playmaker, tight end Zach Ertz.

The Eagles ruled Ertz as out for Sunday's NFC East matchup with a rib and back injury. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor will join him with a knee injury. Wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and cornerback Jalen Mills are questionable with foot and ankle ailments, respectively.

Ertz's lack of availability on Sunday should come as no surprise. In Philadelphia's season-defining win over the Cowboys in Week 16, he suffered a broken rib. Despite the injury, he trooped through, tallying four receptions for 28 yards in the process.

Though a tight end, Ertz is the Eagles' No. 1 receiver. On the season, he has 88 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns, all team-leading statistics.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Ertz is one of the NFL's best at his respective position. He plays the role of a “move tight end,” taking snaps from the Y, slot, or out-wide, and is Carson Wentz's favorite target.

Without Ertz, the Eagles will look to match his production with tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receiver Greg Ward Jr. On the season, Goedert has 54 receptions for 542 yards and five touchdowns. Ward, a former undrafted University of Houston quarterback, has 22 receptions for 211 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles will look to clinch the division shorthanded, as they've been all season long.
