The Philadelphia Eagles have designated tight end Zach Ertz to return from injured reserve, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Ertz now has a 21-day practice window. The Eagles can activate him to the 53-player roster at any point in the next three weeks.

Zach Ertz hasn’t played since Week 6 when he injured his ankle against the Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles placed Ertz on injured reserve on Oct. 22. The team desperately missed him in Week 10 against the lowly New York Giants, a game Philadelphia lost to drop to 3-5-1 on the season.

In six games this season for the Eagles, Ertz has recorded 24 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown. In 112 games with Philadelphia, the 30-year-old has caught 549 balls for 5,921 yards and 36 touchdowns during the regular season.

Despite losing to the Giants, Philadelphia is still in first place in the NFC East division. The team will take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 11. Some fans of the Eagles are calling for head coach Doug Pederson to bench Carson Wentz for Jalen Hurts since Wentz has 12 interceptions on the season.

It's been sad to watch Wentz's level of play drop over the past couple of years. Maybe getting Ertz back in the lineup will help the Eagles' gunslinger, but we don't know for certain when Ertz will play again.
