The Philadelphia Eagles saw their star quarterback Carson Wentz go down with a season-ending injury last year when he tore up his left knee against the Los Angeles Rams. The injury ended his season and threatened to keep him out a considerable amount of time during the 2018 campaign.

Although the Eagles still went on to win the Super Bowl with veteran quarterback Nick Foles leading the way, Wentz is the future of the franchise under center, and the team wants him back sooner rather than later. Fortunately for Philadelphia, the Pro Bowler won't go on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start training camp, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

This is surprising news for the Eagles as the team expected him to be on the PUP list. Wentz seems to be defying the odds as he tries to bounce back from the severe knee injury. It'll be interesting to see how he fairs during training camp and whether the team urges him not to rush his return, especially with Foles back and ready to continue shouldering the load for the up-and-comer.

Rapoport sheds some more light on Wentz being able to avoid the PUP list and participate in training camp.

The Eagles will head into training camp as Super Bowl champions for the first time in franchise history. Along with the team still flying high from their win over the New England Patriots, Wentz's quick recovery only adds to what could be another thrilling season for Philadelphia.
