Just when the NFL offseason is seemingly moving slowly, rumors start to swirl around about players who could be traded or released when the new league year begins. Reportedly, the Philadelphia Eagles are open to trading Nelson Agholor this offseason.

This was first reported by Jason La Canfora, who said the Eagles' wideout is among a few players being shopped around before free agency begins. Agholor would need to be traded after the new league year begins on March 13th, just like everyone else.

Of course, we already have had action this offseason via trade with the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver verbally agreeing to a trade that sent Joe Flacco to Denver. The trade itself cannot be officially passed until March 13th.

With Philadelphia lacking cap space, this news doesn't come as a major surprise. The Eagles head into the 2019 offseason having less than $2 million in cap space.

Due to their restraints with money, they are going to have to move on from certain players. Agholor could be among the unfortunate candidates who get shipped out of Philadelphia.

Agholor had one of his best seasons in 2018—although he still struggled. The 64 receptions were a career high, but the 11.6 yards per receptions isn't great.

He also went from having eight touchdowns in 2017 to having just four in 2018. Since Agholor was drafted by Philadelphia in 2015, he has been a little bit of a disappointment.

He has made plays here and there but as far as production goes, the Eagles would like to see more from him. The only surprising part of this news is that the Eagles aren't exactly deep at the wide receiver position.

As of now, the Eagles only have Alshon Jeffery returning as a starter. Besides that, there isn't much to work with on the Eagles roster.

This brings the mind to wonder what the Eagles plan to attack the wide receiver position in April during the NFL Draft might be. Either way, Eagles fans could have seen the last of Agholor in their teams jersey.
