The Philadelphia Eagles made a splash with the acquisition of former Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard. It appears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has encouraged him to have high expectations for the offense moving forward.

Howard's arrival has helped fill a significant void in Philadelphia's backfield. According to Dave Uram of KYWNewsradio, Howard says Jeffery expects the offense to be rather explosive in the 2019 NFL season:

There is certainly good reason for both players to be optimistic about the offense. Although the Eagles may have lost some key pieces this offseason, they managed to alleviate their losses with some solid additions. Howard has an opportunity to provide them with plenty of bang for their buck after being traded for a sixth-rounder in 2020.

Howard's career got off to a promising start in Chicago. He was named a Pro Bowler following a stellar rookie campaign. Although his production dwindled in the following years, he fell just 65 yards short of registering his third straight 1,000-yard rushing campaign. Howard's presence will give the Eagles the stability they need in the backfield.

Philadelphia has done their best to surround quarterback Carson Wentz with as much firepower as possible. Not only do they have a proven workhorse back in Howard, but the addition of wide receiver DeSean Jackson gives them an added element of explosiveness in their offense. Only time will tell if they will be able to put it together.
