Miquella's Needle becomes important in Elden Ring if you lock yourself from an ending. Here is where to find Miquella's Needle Location. If you end up locking yourself out in a bad situation, you'd really need to know where to find this consumable item.

What is the use of Miquella's Needle?

Miquella's Needle is a consumable item. You can only ever find one in the game. The game's in-game description reads:

“One of the unalloyed gold needles that Miquella crafted to ward away the meddling of outer gods.

Capable of subduing the flame of frenzy if inherited, allowing one to cheat fate and avoid becoming Lord of Frenzied Flame.

However, the needle is as yet unfinished and can only be used in the heart of the storm beyond time said to be found in Faram Azula.”

Most of the time, the needle will prove of no use to you, until you end up pursuing one of Elden Ring's endings, which could turn the tarnished into the Lord of Frenzied Flame. Losing your mind is usually a one-way affair in the game. However, you can reverse the effects of the curse by “subduing the flame of frenzy” by pricking yourself with Miquella's Needle.

Miquella is an Empyrean, a brother of the much more popular Malenia. Being an Empyrean, Miquella is a demigod, and as such, he is among the only beings in Elden Ring that can ascend to godhood and replace Marika. In fact, Mohg once tried to ascend Miquella to godhood, with Mohg being his consort, but of course, this attempt failed. It's interesting how Miquella crafted the needle to “ward away the meddling of outer gods,” and the Tarnished gets his affliction of frenzied flame from the Three Fingers. The Three Fingers is aligned to the Outer God named The Frenzied Flame, whose main goal appears to be to destroy the Greater Will (the Outer God who created the Elden Ring) and overrun the world with chaos. Pitting two things together, observant Elden Ring players who are lore-savvy will easily realize that the Miquella's Needle consumable item is the key to removing the frenzied flame affliction.

Where to find Miquella's Needle

Now, finding Miquella's Needle won't be a simple task. You first have to beat Miquella's sister, Malenia, the Blade of Miquella. After that, the player will have to finish Millicent's questline. Millicent is a young woman afflicted with Scarlet Rot. Gowry sends the player on a quest to help find a cure to Millicent's affliction. Along this questline, the Tarnished will face Commander O'Neal. This boss will drop the Unalloyed Gold Needle, a Key Item. The player will then have to bring this Key Item and give it to Gowry for him to repair. You can continue on Millicent's questline (giving the Unalloyed Gold Needle to her in an attempt to cure her) or just take the Unalloyed Gold Needle straight to where you fought Malenia. Either way is fine because even if you give the gold needle to Millicent, you'd be able to take it back later on in the questline. With the Unalloyed Gold Needle, return to where you fought Malenia, and you'll find Malenia's Flower. You can interact with it with the needle to receive Miquella's Needle. In summary:

  1. Find Gowry in his shack
  2. Defeat Commander O'Neal
  3. Use the Unalloyed Gold Needle from Commander O'Neal on Malenia's Flower to receive Miquella's Needle. Or continue the storyline by giving the needle to Gowry
  4. Gowry repairs the needle
  5. Give the needle to Millicent
  6. Continue the story until you fight NPC Invaders called “Millicent's Sisters”
  7. Completing the quest will let you loot another Unalloyed Gold Needle, which you can then bring to Malenia's Flower to turn it into Miquella's Needle

With Miquella's Needle, you can sell it for 600 runes. However, you should save it for the off chance that you find yourself at Dragonlord Placidusax's arena at Crumbling Farum Azula, as using the consumable is the only way to reverse the frenzied flame curse.
