Pop sensation Britney Spears posted on Instagram about meeting her “girl crush” Taylor Swift.

Additionally, she called Swift “the most iconic pop woman of our generation,” according to People.

Over two decades ago, Spears met Swfit, according to a post on Instagram this past Saturday.

The image was a 2003 photo of her and Swift together. Then, there was a 2008 pic of the superstars. “This is way back when but kinda cool,” the caption started with.

Reflecting on how they met, Swift was in attendance at Spear's “Oops!…I Did It Again” tour and a member of Britney's team approached her. “He said, ‘I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.' I was like of course !!! He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar.”

Britney added, “I was like wow wow she's unbelievable !!! We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She's stunning !!! Girl crush.”

Spears and Swift have both had quite a successful year. Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me, was an instant best-seller with 1.1. million copies sold during its first week on sale.

As for Swift, she's on her popular Eras Tour in South America. Additionally, dubbed the biggest album debut of her career, 1989 (Taylor's Version) is a hit.

It's amazing to hear the backstory of how Britney Spears and Taylor Swift met, considering the success both of them have. And who knew that Spears got a private concert from Swift way back in the day?
