Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton reveals a wild detail about catching up on Max Verstappen, gunning for his eighth F1 title.

The last two races perfectly showed Hamilton's championship DNA, primarily when he fought back from P10 and ended up winning the Brazilian GP. Despite still being down by 8 points, Hamilton seems to be about his valiant effort this season.

“I am proud of everything we have done. There were times when we were 32 points behind. I know how hard it is to catch them up and at the time it feels impossible, but somehow we recovered.”

“This is the best I have been able to give in a year, the training, the time balance that I have.

“I made every sacrifice I could this year. I don’t think I have left anything undone, so at this point of the year there are no regrets,” the F1 star stressed.

Often compared to the great Michael Schumacher, Hamilton gunning for one more title gives a hint on what would be his favorite.

“If I get the job done, I think it will, yes,” replied Hamilton after asking if it would be his greatest F1 title win.

“But also, no one has ever been able to fight for an eighth, aside from Michael. It is a new position, uncharted territory.”

For Hamilton to call this season his favorite, he must win the title this season. Yet, an incredibly talented Verstappen stands on his way, trying to make his own mark in F1 history.
