The Atlanta Falcons suffered a terrible loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings to start their season. To make matters worse, they may have lost one of their promising linemen to injury.

Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk reported that Chris Lindstrom might be out for some time after suffering a foot injury in his debut game against the Vikings.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Falcons fear right guard Chris Lindstrom fractured his foot in today’s loss to the Vikings, pending more tests on Monday.

The 14th overall pick was immediately installed at right guard, where he was going to pair with fellow first-rounder Kaleb McGary (who just got back after missing most of the preseason with a heart procedure).

Atlanta spent their two first-round picks in the 2019 Draft on improving the offensive line. Lindstrom was picked 14th overall while Kaleb McGary was selected with the 31st pick.

It's frustrating for Atlanta fans that their new-look O-line won't be playing together for some time. However, Lindstrom himself must probably feel disappointed in the injury.

He shared with AJC's Matt Winkeljohn that he was looking forward to playing his first professional game with the Falcons:

“It’s going to be a dream come true, and we have a job to do, and I’m just trying to go out there and execute and be accountable,” Lindstrom said. “I’m nervous for every game and so just treating it like every other game and just getting ready to go and being ready for Sunday.”

However, Lindstrom's injury is only one of the team's many problems that were exposed by this game. The secondary allowed Minnesota to have their way. Matt Ryan also had a couple of spotty decisions. The tackle group also had a ton of problems.

They will need Lindstrom to recover as soon as possible because it will be a long season otherwise.
