The Atlanta Falcons could be seeking out a familiar face to fill their void at offensive coordinator after the team recently parted ways with former OC Steve Sarkisian.

According to ESPN's Vaughn McClure the reunion is very much a possibility for Atlanta.

Dirk Koetter scheduled to interview for the Falcons' offensive coordinator position on Saturday, according to a source. Koetter, just let go as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach, was the Falcons' offensive coordinator from 2012-2014. Koetter's last Falcons' offense in 2014 averaged 378.2 yards per game (8th), 284.6 passing yards per game (5th), and 23.8 points per game (12th). His Buccaneers' offense this past season averaged 415.5 yards per game (3rd), 320.3 passing yards per game (1st), and 24.8 points per game (12th). Matt Ryan praised Koetter before for making him a more confident quarterback.”

Koetter did not find very much success as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, the potentially high-powered offense was a bright spot. Koetter may find a job fairly soon with Atlanta, which wouldn't leave him unemployed very long. The Bucs had a lot of potential on offense, but the lack of defense really made the rest of the team suffer at times.

A back and forth competition between quarterbacks Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick was also tough for the team to build any kind of momentum. Koetter possesses a great football mind and he could very well be reunited with another high powered offense in the near future with Atlanta.
