Following a rough start to the year, the Atlanta Falcons have continued to surge in the right direction with three straight wins that has pushed them to the .500 midway through the season.

The latest being an impressive 38-14 win over the Washington Redskins that saw star wide receiver Julio Jones grab his first touchdown catch since the 2017 campaign, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

It has been the one notable spot that Jones has been lacking this season as the Falcons have struggled to get him involved in the red zone, which has been issues that was highlighted in the 2017 campaign. This is a huge step forward as it gets him back on track finally getting his first touchdown of the year. His lack of production in that part of the offense has been an underlying storyline around the team despite his continued dominance elsewhere putting up another huge season.

Jones has been phenomenal aside from receiving touchdowns as he's seventh in the league with 60 catches, second with 933 receiving yards, and first with 116.6 receiving yards per game. He has notched over 100 receiving yards five times this year including each of the last three straight games and four out of the last five overall. Jones has been the game-changing talent that has helped the Falcons turn their fortunes around on the field behind his production over the last several weeks.

There has been no questioning the 29-year-old's talent, it has simply been focused on his lack of production with touchdowns. This could be a positive sign as it may see him have an uptick in that department moving forward this year as his play will be largely indicative of how the season unfolds. If he can become a factor in the red zone, it could take the entire offense to the next level.
