The Atlanta Falcons have been a hot topic of conversation lately for the trade rumors circulating around wide receiver Julio Jones. After he made some comments during a televised phone call with Shannon Sharpe, it appears he is out of Atlanta as soon as a trade partner is found. However, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith had a vague response on the matter, according to Michael Giardi of NFL Network.

Reports came out that Jones had asked the team for a trade and the Falcons have been actively shopping him since the NFL Draft, although they have failed to find a trade suitor that meets their demands. Whether Julio gets traded or not remains to be seen, although it certainly appears to be trending in the direction of him playing elsewhere by the start of the season.

Smith doubled down on his comments and insisted that trade talks are kept in-house.

So, these quotes scream that the Falcons are still actively shopping Jones and just waiting for a team to meet their price point.  After all, Jones can still produce at a high level when healthy. Then again, the Falcons are cap-strapped as can be and need to find a way to offload salary quickly to ensure their rookies from the 2021 NFL Draft class get signed.

Certainly, the situation regarding Jones and the Falcons will be one to keep an eye on, and it's only a matter of time before a trade takes place.
