The NFC South is a loaded division, but Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan isn't intimidated by any team in the NFC South. Ryan knows it's going to be tough playing in the division, but he wants to remind everyone that they will also have to face the Falcons. They really struggled early in the 2019 season, but as the season went on, they played better.

“I have the belief that we are right there with all of those teams,” Ryan said via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the AJC. “They have to deal with us as well. We create a number of issues for these teams to go against. If we play our best, we can go toe-to-toe with anyone, any week.”

The New Orleans Saints still have Drew Brees, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, and the Panthers brought in Teddy Bridgewater. Even though there is a lot of attention because of the moves, Ryan points out that this has been a division that has been good for a while.

“Their (Buccaneers) team was tough last year,” Ryan said. “Their defense was really, really good. Real tough to go against. I expect them to be really good [and a] tough competitor. Same with New Orleans. Same with Carolina. The division has been tough for a long time. I think it’s about us, though. The mindset is that we have to have, is that we [must] have ourselves prepared and be ready to go.”

Even with a tough division, the expectation surrounding the Falcons are clear: There is no reason with the offensive playmakers they have that they can't make the playoffs.
