Ubisoft teased Far Cry 6 for the first time in months. The anticipated next entry to the popular shooter adventure game will have its gameplay revealed this Friday. Ubisoft released a “Livestream Teaser” for a live stream coming this Friday, where new gameplay footage for the game will be shown off.

The teaser video didn't show anything relevant to gameplay yet. But it did feature Giancarlo Esposito voicing Far Cry 6‘s antagonist dictator Antón Castillo. Esposito's voice acting is on point, and his short speech in the teaser can be moving – but only if you're a ‘true Yaran.”

Far Cry 6 will be set in a dictatorship-ruled third world country in a fictional banana republic in the Caribbean, Yara. You play as a revolutionary Yaran named Dani Rojas who's part of an ongoing uprising against the tyrannical dictator. The game uses the new Ubisoft Originals tag that Ubisoft recently launched as a brand for their first-party developed games.

We're very hopeful for this new Far Cry game. We look forward to the live stream this Friday, which will go live May 28, 9:30 AM PDT. But of course, we hope we get to see more of Castillo in the teasers. Far Cry games are good action shooter games, sure. But the series has also become really popular for its fantastic villains. Starting with Far Cry 3‘s Vaas and 4‘s Pagan Min and 5's midwestern religious cult families, Esposito's involvement in the latest game only continues the trend.
