The Indiana Fever are trying to get their first win of the 2024 WNBA season against the Connecticut Sun. Indiana held a 44-41 advantage at halftime, but not before being hit with a Caitlin Clark injury scare.

Clark attempted to navigate around one of Connecticut's screens, lost her footing, and fell to the ground clutching her leg:

Clark temporarily went to the locker room but, thankfully, she returned to the bench.

Caitlin Clark completely changes the dynamic of the Indiana offense. Indiana needs the star rookie to stay healthy as they look for a win against the Sun. Clark totaled eight points and two rebounds by the end of the first half. Her teammates Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith led the team with 12 and 10 points respectively going into the third quarter.

Indiana wants to keep their foot on the gas in this pivotal matchup. The Fever have lost their first three games of the 2024 WNBA season despite possessing one of the most coveted young duos in the league. The Caitlin Clark-Aliyah Boston pairing is highly promising. They along with the rest of Indiana's contributors want to climb the Eastern Conference standings after a subpar 2023 showing.

Fever look to keep pressing despite Caitlin Clark injury scare

The Fever finished the 2023 season with a 13-27 record, which placed them last in the Eastern Conference standings. Fortunately, they won the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, which they used to select Caitlin Clark.

Clark was one of the best college basketball players in history and broke too many records to count with the Iowa women's basketball team. The star guard held career averages of 28.4 points, 8.2 assists, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. She shot 37.7% on three-pointers, a respectable percentage, but one that does not completely tell the story of her sharpshooting ability.

Clark can knock deep deep-range shots with ease, often being compared to greats like Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu. She hopes her offensive prowess helps the Fever attain success as she starts her professional tenure with the team.

The start of the 2024 season has not gone how Indiana imagined, but they have what it takes to rally and achieve success.
