Class of 2024 quarterback Trever Jackson of Winter Garden Jones High in Florida announced his commitment to Florida State football on Wednesday, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports:

“BREAKING: Class of 2024 QB Trever Jackson tells me he has Committed to Florida State! The 6’3 190 QB from Winter Garden, FL was previously committed to Ole Miss The Seminoles now have TWO Elite 11 Finalists in their ‘24 Class (Luke Kromenhoek & now Jackson)”

Before committing to Florida State football, Jackson had previously been committed to Ole Miss.

Jackson told Fawcett, “Growing up in Florida, FSU has always been a dream school for me. I loved the college town atmosphere. I attended a few games and love every minute i know they had another 24’ already but ever since I first met Coach Norvell I always told him I just want a chance to compete.

My Granny Ruby Collins Moore, who passed away a week ago, was a Big Fan of FSU as well. Every time she saw me she would say “If you ever get the opportunity… Granny think you should go to FSU”. I’m extremely happy that I have this opportunity to make her proud.”

Jackson joins Florida State football coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles’ top 12 2024 class. He is accompanied by four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, four-star cornerback Charles Lester III, and others.

Florida State football is also seeing success in the transfer portal, landing former Alabama running back Roydell Williams. Williams was Alabama's second-leading rusher in 2023, garnering 560 yards and five touchdowns on 5.0 yards per carry. The 5'10, 214-pounder is expected to have one year of NCAA eligibility remaining, potentially emerging as Florida State's top back next season after junior Trey Benson declared for the NFL Draft.

Florida State football locked up head coach Mike Norvell to an 8-year extension last week.
