Daylen Baldwin, a former Jackson State player who was a standout for Deion Sanders in his first season with the Tigers in Spring 2021, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Baldwin announced the news on his Instagram page in collaboration with Peters Sports Management.

“Congratulations to @daylenbaldwin2 on signing a contract with the @atlantafalcons. No one can stop what God has planned for you,” the caption read.

Baldwin showcased his football prowess during his time at Morgan State and Jackson State within the HBCU ranks. He later made the move to Michigan as a graduate student to further his athletic and academic journey. During his freshman year at Morgan State in 2017, he demonstrated his skills in 11 games, securing 16 catches for a total of 181 yards along with a touchdown. Building on his success, in his sophomore year, he appeared in 14 games, recording 14 receptions for 152 yards and another touchdown.

In 2019, he moved to Jackson State and redshirted. The 2020 season got canceled because of COVID-19. Yet, Baldwin made a comeback for Jackson State's spring 2021 season with coach Deion Sanders. He excelled, topping the SWAC with 27 catches for 540 yards (averaging 90 yards per game) and scoring seven touchdowns in only six games.

Baldwin showcased outstanding productivity during the 2021 season with the Wolverines. He made a remarkable 69-yard touchdown reception from star quarterback J. J. McCarthy in Michigan's first game against Western Michigan. Moreover, he added a 56-yard touchdown catch in the match against Wisconsin.

Baldwin has NFL experience. On August 3, 2022, Baldwin joined the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent but was later released on August 30, 2022. He then joined the Browns' practice squad on August 31, 2022, and signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023. However, he was waived again on August 4, 2023. During his time with the Browns, he played in a single game for Cleveland and made two receptions for 25 yards, averaging 12.5 yards per catch.

He attempted a tryout for the Cleveland Browns once more in November 2023 and was eventually picked up by the Minnesota Vikings shortly after. Now, he finds himself transitioning to the Atlanta Falcons, a team striving to position themselves as strong contenders for the playoffs, especially with the acquisition of the former Viking quarterback, Kirk Cousins. The revamped Falcons squad will be under the leadership of Raheem Morris, setting high expectations for the upcoming season.
