Junior dos Santos is the latest UFC fighter to react to the shocking Cain Velasquez news that came out recently. The two are former foes and have fought each other three times in UFC heavyweight title fights.
Many UFC fighters have been coming to the defense of Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos has joined that cause. The former heavyweight champion made a post on Facebook in support of his former foe.
“As combat opponents we shared the dream of winning and becoming the number one,” the former UFC heavyweight wrote on Facebook.
“Today as parents, the victory we want to achieve is the well-being and security of our families.
There is still a lot to be revealed and investigated about this situation that Cain Velasquez is involved in. But until then I believe any honest parent would do the same if they were in his shoes. May justice be done and Cain can be where he belongs to be with his family as soon as possible. #freeCain #IstandwithCain”
Cain Velasquez is currently facing many charges with attempted murder being the most serious one so far. The former UFC heavyweight has been accused of chasing down a man that has reportedly molested ‘a close family member' over ‘100 times.'
Junior dos Santos has a long history with Cain Velasquez as the two have fought in arguably the greatest trilogy in UFC history. Neither man is still in the promotion and both of their MMA futures are currently up in the air.
