In an EMEA rematch in Shanghai, FUT Esports sent FNATIC home from the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai (2024 VCT Masters Shanghai) playoffs.
After losing their respective opening playoff matches in the tournament, it was a do-or-die battle for both FUT and FNATIC. In the end, it was FUT who will continue their VCT Masters Shanghai playoffs journey as they bested FNATIC in three games.
To start the FUT versus FNATIC matchup, FUT actually lost the first game of the series in Split. Fortunately, FUT was able to bounce back in the next two maps, Lotus and Ascent, to send FNATIC back to EMEA.
As expected of a former world champion, Mehmet “cNed” İpek led his team in frags. He finished this series with a total of 43 kills, 14 assists, and a 225 Average Combat Score (ACS).
His supporting cast, specifically Ata “ATA KAPTAN” Tan and Doğukan “qRaxs” Balaban, also posted 40+ kills, both posting 42 kills for the team.
As for FNATIC's side, Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev definitely deserves a nod as he finished the series with 60 kills along with fifteen assists and a 316 Average Combat Score throughout the entire best-of-three series.
FUT Loses to FNATIC in Split
At the start of the series, FUT lost to FNATIC in the first game. Despite Split being their map pick, FUT lost to FNATIC 13-5 in Split.
FUT and FNATIC were trading rounds for the entirety of the first half, with FNATIC just ahead of FUT by two rounds as it was 7-5 coming into halftime. Unfortunately for FUT, they were unable to get any rounds in the second half as FNATIC ran away with a six-round win streak.
In Split, Derke takes the cake as the player of the game. As Yoru, he top fragged the server with 26 kills, six assists, and a very impressive Average Combat Score of 406.
FUT Digs Deep to Win in Lotus
As if the first game on Split did not happen, FUT came back fuming with vengeance for the second game on Lotus. They took FNATIC's map pick with a 13-8 scoreline.
FUT reversed their fate on this map, finding themselves ahead 9-3 coming into halftime. During the second half, FUT only dropped eight total rounds to FNATIC before closing it out with a defused spike on the 21st round.
In this game, CNed almost had a 300 ACS performance, posting 291 ACS while getting 19 kills and 11 assists. However, the top fragger of FUT was none other than ATA KAPTAN. With his Viper, he logged 23 kills and four assists alongside a 278 ACS.
FUT Ends On a High Note in Ascent
To close out the series, FUT ended the third game on a high note. The third-seeded EMEA team dished out a 13-3 beatdown to the top-seeded EMEA team in Ascent.
Just like the previous game in Lotus, FUT collected a 9-3 lead before it went to halftime. With a very dominant performance thus far on the map, FUT simply ended Ascent in just four rounds in the second half.
In this 13-10 beatdown, FUT's Furkan “MrFaliN” Yeğen logged the most Average Combat Score out of everyone on the server. He posted an impressive 307 ACS as Sova as he racked up 18 kills and six assists for himself.
Meanwhile, CNed also had a fantastic outing on Ascent as Jett. He himself had 18 kills, tied with MrFaliN, and an assist to his name with 272 ACS.
As for FNATIC's side, Derke was the only player once again to have played well for his team. As Jett on Ascent, Derke had 17 kills, the only double-digit kill score for the entire side of FNATIC. He also finished the game with a near-300 ACS performance, posting a 298 ACS on their losing endeavor.

As it stands, FNATIC, the top-seeded team of the EMEA region, bows out early in the playoffs at Shanghai. With FNATIC gone, the only remaining EMEA teams in the tournament are none other than FUT and Team Heretics, the latter still in the upper bracket.
As for FUT, they will continue their lower bracket journey in Masters Shanghai. Their next match will be in the lower bracket quarterfinals against a losing team from the upper bracket.
