Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island are Genshin Impact 2.1‘s new islands.
Genshin Impact 2.1's new islands will be important in the Traveler's journey. But before Travelers can visit these islands, they will have to finish the quest Chapter II: Act I – The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia first. They should also be at least AR 30.
In The Inazuma Diaries, miHoYo revealed what's in store for Travelers in Genshin Impact 2.1's new islands. Watatsumi Islands is located to the west of Yashiori Island, with unique landscapes and flora that looks like they came straight out of Disney's The Little Mermaid. It has many highlands, numerous waterfalls, and the Sangonomiya Shrine is at its center. Travelers will remember that Genshin Impact 2.0's story ended with Sangonomiya Kokomi inviting the Traveler to come with her, so we presume this is where we're headed next.

If you think that Tatarasuna was already hard to traverse, then you'd find a nasty surprise in Seirai Island. What role this island will have in the story remains unknown, so Travelers are advised to approach this island with caution.
New mechanics will make their appearance in Genshin Impact 2.1's new islands, like Phase Gates, Electric Lamps, and Mysterious Pillars. They will also be home to new enemy monsters, like the Hydro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, and the Specters.
These two new islands add the total of explorable major islands in Inazuma to five. Remember, though, that Inazuma has a total of six major islands, the sixth one being the fogged-shrouded Tsurumi Island. What could be hidden in Tsurumi Island? Our guess is we'll find out in Genshin Impact 2.2.
