The Kerbal Space Program has been allowing players to take flight and reach their engineering dreams for ten years now. Now, as the game approaches the twilight of its years, it's headed to a new destination: next-gen consoles.
Community Manager KSPStar shared on the community boards that the game's enhanced edition will be taking flight on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 this Fall 2021. “Playing Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X results in a technical boost,” says KSPStar, “with the action running at Quad high definition 1440p and an improved framerate over previous console versions. Xbox Series S runs Kerbal Space Program.”
Article Continues BelowThe graphically-enhanced version of the game on next-gen consoles will go on sale for $39.99. While players definitely don't play Kerbal Space Program for the fancy graphics, they'll still surely appreciate the facelift.
Meanwhile, the most recent content update for the game will be its last, developers Squad announced. The team celebrated the milestones of the game's development with a nice little graphic. There has been a lot of work done over the course of the past ten years. It's finally time to give the space rocket keys to the next generation. Take-Two Interactive subsidiary Intercept Games will be taking over the reigns from Squad in developing the game's sequel. It's set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows on 2022.
