The Wuju Bladesman hailing from Ionia is the latest League of Legends champion to receive a small rework. In a Tweet by Riot Games Game Designer Kevin “Captain Gameplay” Huang, he outlines the changes slated to ship with the Master Yi rework. See the full list of changes:

- Critical Hit Damage: 60% (+ Bonus Crit Damage%) Extra Damage >>> 50% (+ Bonus Crit Damage%) Extra Damage
- Now applies on hit effects (on hit effects from subsequent hits on the same target are also reduced)
- Cooldown refund now scales down with Ability Haste. reducing synergy
E – Wuju Style
- Duration does not decrease during W – Meditate >>> Duration does not decrease during Q – Alpha Strike or W – Meditate
- Can now be casted during Q – Alpha Strike
R – Highlander
- Duration does not decrease during W 0 Meditate >>> Duration does not decrease during Q – Alpha Strike or W – Meditate
- Can now be casted during Q – Alpha Strike
The meat of the Master Yi rework is in his signature ability, Q – Alpha Strike. The base damage is higher at Rank 1, and by Rank 5 the base damage is lower. Aside from this, the AD scaling has been taken down a notch, too. This is perhaps to level out the following on-hit changes, and to discourage builds revolving around lethality. Sorry, Duskblade of Draktharr enjoyers. The cooldown refund change also meant that normal attacks by Master Yi will no longer reduce Alpha Strike's cooldown by a flat 1 second all throughout the game, as this value will go lower the more ability haste you have.
Damage on critical hits on Alpha Strike was also reduced. At this point it's looking like a nerf, but seeing that players would be stacking critical chance items on Master Yi quick, the change doesn't look too bad.
Alpha Strike applying on-hit effects is huge. This means items like Kraken Slayer, Blade of the Ruined King, Wit's End, and other on-hit items now have immense synergy with the ability. Even the true damage hits from Master Yi's own E – Wuju Style would now be applied on Alpha Strike.
The Master Yi rework is currently on the PBE server, and can be expected on the live servers on Patch 12.5. For more League of Legends, click here.
