Genshin Impact Update 1.4 launches on March 17 bringing a new character and several new additional content. Players eagerly await new exciting content to enjoy in Genshin. Unfortunately, a glaring issue surrounding the game continues to cause multiple problems for players. Many players can play Genshin with no issues but there are those unfortunate enough to have their accounts attacked by hackers. The victims cried out for a response from miHoYo but have so far been unheard. Recently, a translated statement reveals that miHoYo finally looks to bolster account security for Genshin Impact.
GENSHIN IMPACT SECURITY UPGRADE
The community's request for two-factor authentication might have spurred the developers to act. Reddit user u/uijbg shared a translated statement posted on the Genshin Thailand Group. Interestingly enough, miHoYo initially tried to deny any cases of leaks taking place in Genshin Impact. Naturally, this won't sit well for loyal players of the game.

The game developers went on to shift the blame to players allegedly “giving their information” to dubious websites. However, the statement concluded that they will finally work towards increasing account security measures but it will have to wait until a future update.
“Most of the players who got hacked, and [sic] mostly because of giving their information to the fake website. We hope that the traveler won’t go to the fake website. We also will be increasing accounts security as well, please wait for any new updates.”
Two-factor authentication works on a multitude of current online games but miHoYo surprisingly still hasn't added it to Genshin Impact. miHoYo's vague promise in the statement has players speculating which possible additions could be added to safeguard their accounts. Hopefully, miHoYo moves swiftly to add more security before any more leaks take place.
