  • SGB: Aatrox, Viego, Galio, Tristana, Gragas

Aside from the 6 kills that Team AZE got, they found nothing else. No towers, epic monsters, or gold lead went in AZE's favor. This was a great performance by everyone in Saigon Buffalo, but Shogun's performance was astonishing on the Tristana.

It was a short game, SGB found the end angle after claiming the Baron buff just under 21 minutes in. By the time the game ended, SGB was ahead by almost 19 thousand gold.

Team AZE is now locked out of the Rumble Stage after this loss.

Results: SGB win in 23:02 (AZE 6 – 25 SGB)

Game 2: DetonatioN FocusMe (LJL) vs T1 (LCK)

Picks

  • DFM: Rumble, Wukong, Syndra, Aphelios, Rakan
  • T1: Gangplank, Graves, Zoe, Ezreal, Bard

Coming into the whole tournament as the favorites, T1 of course held a dominant performance against the Japanese team. In particular, Oner on Graves and Zoe on Faker both had an amazing game.

That being said, the game wasn't completely dark and lost for DFM from the get go. At one point, they saw their toplaner Evi on the Rumble as the light at the end of the tunnel, and played around him.

DFM managed to claim both Rift Heralds, but nothing else. T1 claimed the Baron buff at 22 minutes and ended the game shortly after.

T1 lock their slot in the Rumble Stage after this victory.

Result: T1 win in 23:42 (DFM 6 – 18 T1)

Picks

  • SGB: Gwen, Diana, Kalista, Kai'Sa, Sett
  • DFM: Tryndamere, Wukong, Vel'Koz, Aphelios, Alistar

An interesting mid-lane matchup is present in this game: Kalista vs Vel'Koz.

This game set a couple of records throughout it, due to the chaotic clown fiesta. Every minute a fight was happening, and both teams were just locked in a fistfight that lasted all throughout the game. At 62 total kills, this match had the most kills in the Groups Stage. Steal on Wukong set the record for most kills in a single game this MSI 2022, clocking in 16 kills by the end of the game.

Despite how fed Steal was, SGB still find the game winning teamfight, claiming their slot in the Rumble Stage.

Result: SGB win in 36:52 (SGB 30 – 32 DFM)

Surprisingly, Team AZE found a small gold lead in the beginning minutes of the game. They managed to claim first blood and take the first drake that spawned, but much to their dismay, this would be the last time they would see a lead against the Korean behemoths.

T1 claimed every objective on the map available to them afterwards, including both Rift Heralds and a Dragon. It quickly turned into a one-sided game and AZE's lead was nowhere to be found. At the last few minutes of the game, T1 claimed the Baron buff and ended the game with a 19k gold lead.

Result: T1 win in 22:15 (T1 20 – 8 AZE)

  • AZE: Gwen, Graves, Galio, Ezreal, Nautilus

DetonatioN FocusMe had the lead for most of this game, and was clearly favored to win the game. Yutapon's Senna and Steal's Wukong were both popping off, but AZE mounted a comeback after claiming two Baron buffs in a row. From a gold deficit of -8141, AZE turned the tables and won with a 714 gold lead.

This was AZE's first victory, and it was done in a glorious manner.

Result: AZE win in 37:02 (DFM 19 – 16 AZE)

Picks

  • SGB: Gwen, Viego, Twisted Fate, Ahri, Braum
  • T1: Jax, Wukong, Sylas, Kalista, Rumble

A surprising pick comes in from the T1 support: Rumble.

This is Keria's first professional Rumble game, and he even brought Cleanse and Ghost with him! While these things sound like something you'd see when your teammate is trolling in Solo Queue, Keria made it work.

As many expected, this was a stomp by the Korean team. By the end of the game, the VCS representatives had nothing to their name besides a singular tower and five kills. Gumayusi also showed off his Kalista, which he went deathless on.

SGB only held a gold lead in the early game, and it was only by a negligible 206 gold. By the end of this game, T1's lead was almost 12 thousand.

More fun facts: Keria's Rumble dealt more damage than almost everyone else in his team. The only player that dealt more damage than him was Zeus' Jax. Keria, despite having the lowest gold share in the game, dealt 21.5% of his team's damage.

Standings

Groups Day 6 is the last day of the Groups Stage, hence the standings have been finalized:
