NIS Classics Volume 1: Phantom Brave & Soul Nomad will release in just a few months. The NIS collection includes two NIS Classics (hence, the title). Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Remastered and Soul Nomad & the World Eaters come in a single cartridge. Both games have had strong cult followings throughout the years, and its' time for more people to experience them.

The Nintendo Switch exclusive Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 1 – Phantom Brave & Soul Nomad releases on August 31, 2021. NIS Classics Vol. 1 comes with two turn-based strategy RPG games from Nippon Ichi Software. For the unaware, the two games can be considered little siblings to NIS' more popular Disgaea series (which has a game coming out later this year as well.) However, the two games have a more serious tone, and the often cheery mood of other Nippon Ichi games is absent here.

That's not to mean that these games aren't fun to play. Both games diverged from the usual gameplay of the Disgaea series as a way for Nippon Ichi to mix things up a little. However, fans of Disgaea will, in general, find a game they'd enjoy in NIS Classics Vol. 1 as well. They just have to give a little bit of room for newer experiences, and they're good to go.

The NIS Classics Vol. 1 Collection also comes in a Deluxe Edition, which contains collectibles that fans will appreciate. It comes in a collector's box and comes with the games' official soundtrack in a CD. Perhaps the most desirable collectible from the set would be the softcover art book of the two games. Any item that will add to long-time NIS fans will be an ideal gift for them. If you know any friend who you know loves Disgaea, consider getting them this.
