A tweet by League personality Monstrous Yi claims that League of Legends next champion is named Renata. However, players are skeptical since it hasn't even been a week since the release of Zeri, League's most recent champion.

The name of the game mentioned in the tweet roughly translates to “Battle of the Golden Spatula” and is considered a spin-off of Teamfight Tactics. This is no cheap imitation though, since Battle of the Golden Spatula is co-developed by Tencent, Riot's parent organization. Being a spin-off, there are differences between Battle of the Golden Spatula and the League-based Teamfight Tactics you know and love.
The clincher here is the fact that a subreddit for RenataMains is privated. Every League of Legends champion has their own subreddit with the same name format, and Riot reserves these in advance most of the time.
Her ability uses a placeholder icon; a color shifted version of Kassadin's ability icon. Her ability description, however, seems to hold substantial information. Translated by Monstrous Yi, it reads:
Article Continues Below“Passive: Renata's basic attacks deal 1/2/5% of the target's maximum health as true damage.
Active: Renata fires a missile that hits all enemies dealing 200/300/900 magic damage and reduces their magic resist by 10/15/30. At the end of the missile, it will explode. Enemies entering the explosion area will also lose magic resist. The magic reduction can be stacked.”
Riot previously mentioned that they are slowing down their champion releases, but we also know that Zeri's release was delayed. She was supposed to go live late 2021, and the enchanter which is speculated to be Renata was supposed to be the first champion of 2022.
Other leaks, albeit unreliable, seem to hint at the fact that Renata will release sometime in March, along with the Anima SQUAD skin line, which she will be a part of.
