Trine 5 comes out on August 31, 2023, on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5. The game was developed by Frozenbyte and published by THQ Nordic.

Trine 5 is similar to the previous four games in the series with some new key features added. The game is a 2.5D adventure game with puzzles solved by utilizing the abilities of each of the three characters. Players can swap between the three characters in single-player gameplay or choose to play with up to three other players for a three-player co-op experience, available both online or local multiplayer. The game features an adaptive difficulty system that makes it challenging all the way through without becoming too restrictive. Trine 5 boasts a new combat system that makes boss battles more tense and more memorable, making the game now great in both puzzle platforming and combat, which is a pinnacle for the series. Finally, players will have access to custom outfits, letting them customize their characters and stand out in the party, even if everyone's using the same character!
Story
The Wizard-Thief-Knight trio returns as Amadeus, Zoya, and Pontius take on their most action-packed journey yet. The heroes of Trine reunite to fight against the fearsome Clockwork army and bring peace and justice to the land, as they try to clear their tarnished reputations with this epic fight they're about to embark on.
