Developer Steel City Mill announced the delay of Undisputed's Career Mode via X and in their Dev Roundtable video. Overall, the developers delayed the Career Mode beta to “focus on improving key gameplay areas” while “laying a stronger foundation for the release of career mode.” In the 18 minute video, creative director Ash Habib explained the decision to delay the mode to 2024.
“For Career Mode, the big news is we don't be dropping Career Mode this year,” Habib said. “We are making some further improvements to Career Mode but essentially we're looking to drop it early next year.” He then went into further detail
“There's a few reasons why, the main one being we really wanted Career Mode to be a place we were happy with.” Overall, Habib feels Career Mode “is gonna be the main single player experience”. Therefore, it's understandable why the developer wants an exact level of polish for it. He then proceeded to speak about the various improvements the team's been working on. “We really wanted to make sure those improvements were meaningful in terms of making the AI feel more dangerous. But also things like Career progression and the economy.”

Overall, it's a shame to see the mode won't release in time for the holidays. Additionally, this means the Undisputed Character Creator Mode also receives a delay as well. Gameplay Director Will Kinsley confirmed that Character Creator ships along with Career Mode, calling it “necessary” for the mode. Therefore, don't expect to build your own professional boxer any time soon within the game.
Additionally, the roundtable included a couple of other discussions. the developer mentioned changes to their 2023 road map, as well as visual damage and stamina updates. However, most fans wanted to know about what will be the game's biggest single player experience.
Undisputed released in Early Access on January 31st this year on Steam. With big modes like Career and Character Creator still absent, expect the game to remain in early access until the devs implement more ideas to evolve their boxing title.
