After retiring from professional League of Legends in June 2020, superstar AD Carry Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is back and ready to reclaim glory in the LPL. On his return to the competitive scene, Uzi will be joining forces with Bilibili Gaming (BLG), who finished seventh in the league in the 2021 season.
The veteran bot laner began his League career on LPL squad Royal Club in 2013, the organization that later founded Royal Never Give Up (RNG) in 2016. Uzi proved himself as one of the best ADCs of his time, forming a strong RNG core alongside jungler Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan and mid laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao.
Uzi and RNG also had a strong 2017 season, where they placed second in LPL Spring and Summer. At the World Championship, the squad advanced as far as the semifinals, losing a thrilling five-game series to a blazing hot SKT T1. The team finally claimed the domestic titles in Spring and Summer 2018. That same year, RNG also secured the Mid-Season Invitational trophy and reached the quarterfinals at Worlds.
The following year, however, proved a tumultuous time for RNG. Uzi and the team did well domestically, placing second in Summer playoffs and ceding the LPL crown to FunPlus Phoenix. At Worlds, though, RNG faltered in the group stages and could not advance to the playoffs.
After an overhaul, RNG has returned to the upper echelon of LPL and earlier this year reached quarters at Worlds 2021. For the upcoming season, Uzi will be facing his former team as he embarks on a refreshed journey with Bilibili Gaming, looking to lead the team to improved performances in China's professional scene.
Alongside Uzi, BLG's 2022 roster consists of: top laner Chen “Breathe” Chen; jungler Wei “Weiwei” Bo-Han; mid laner Chu “FoFo” Chun-Lan; support Liu “Crisp” Qing-Song; and rookie bot laner Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan.
