Besides the thrill and drama at VALORANT Champions Berlin, the finals match of the inaugural world championship also revealed something very exciting for fans. A new teaser video premiered during the five-game series, giving us a clue into the next agent that will soon arrive in the game. Riot has not disclosed much details yet about Agent 18, codenamed ‘Sprinter', but the new short clip might just provide some hints about what to expect.

VALORANT new Agent 18 / ‘Sprinter' Teaser

Agent 18 will be dropping early in 2022. Fans are anticipating that Sprinter, or whoever the new agent is, could come out as early as January 12 next year, when Episode 4 Act 1 is set to launch. However, the new agent's release date could also be pushed back, given that a rework is in the works for Yoru.

The teaser that played during VALORANT Champions 2021 is barely over 15 seconds long, but it does give some mysterious images about the new agent. In most of the frames, we can see a glitchy figure with words or codes. Here are some of the words we can see: “real”, “temp”, “C2”, “comp”, “two”, “sum”.

Also, the voiceover could just be the actual character's lines. “I’ll show them if I want to. Enemies in our way? I hope they like getting hit by lightning,” the voice said. “Get ready, I go fast.”

The quote certainly seems in line with the notion of a “Sprinter” so it would be interesting to see if this new agent happens to be someone who, well, goes fast. Mobility is a great asset in game, allowing players to rotate faster, reposition in gun fights, and dodge bullets (think of Jett's dash). Of course, it's all purely based on speculation at this point. But fans might already be looking forward to how Agent 18 can change the dynamic of VALORANT games, just like how recent releases KAY/O and Chamber shook up approaches to various maps with their utility.
