Despite a number of personalities from the basketball scene wanting to take part in the highly-anticipated upcoming action-animated film, “Space Jam 2,” a recent report reveals that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo actually turned down a potential role in the movie.
According to ESPN's Malika Andrews, Giannis would much rather focus on further improving his game than participating in something that will have little to no benefit to his basketball career.
Antetokounmpo does make summer modifications to accommodate for relaxation and family time. Still, when approached about starring in “Space Jam 2” with LeBron James, Antetokounmpo declined. Being in the film would have required him to give up two weeks of private workouts to train with his fellow stars while making the movie, a total non-starter, given Antetokounmpo's reclusive tendencies.
This just proves how focused the Bucks All-Star guard/forward is on becoming the best player he can be. It's all business for the 24-year-old, and apparently, there is no room for distractions — even in the offseason.
Giannis has, in the past, admitted how Hollywood does not appeal to him, so in truth, this is not a surprise at all. He's just one of those guys who wants to keep his head down and focus on improving his craft.
All his dedication and hard work has been paying off so far, as he is in the midst of the best season in hi career. He has led Milwaukee to the best record in the league, and has become a frontrunner in the MVP race. Obviously, these are the type of things Giannis would much rather focus on.
