New York Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was suspended last week after a verbal spat with head coach Ben McAdoo before walking out of the team's facility.

Rodgers-Cromartie's indefinite suspension has since been lifted, with the 31-year-old set to return to action this week. While there may be some concern regarding the growing unrest between the two-time Pro Bowl selection and the second-year head coach, the former insisted that the disagreement was nothing but a “miscommunication” and “misunderstanding”, as NFL insider Ralph Vacchiano reported:

The Giants' team Twitter page also shared Rodgers-Cromartie's thoughts on the situation, stating that his competitive personality just got the better of him:

McAdoo has had his hands full in managing this rather dysfunctional team this season. The Giants have a handful of fiery personalities on their roster, including Rodgers-Cromartie and star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

It stands to reason that tempers flare up for players like DRC and OBJ when they go winless over the first five games of the season. But, with the G-Men finally getting their first victory in Week 6 with a stunning road upset over the Denver Broncos, perhaps cooler heads will prevail and translate into more success rather than added frustration as the season goes on.
