After a forgettable three-win season, the New York Giants are looking to bounce back with a vengeance in 2018. Although the 2017 NFL campaign was disappointing for New York, the team was able to secure a high draft pick resulting in the arrival of running back Saquon Barkley out of Penn State.

Barkley has already made quite an impression in New York since being drafted second overall by the Giants. The 21-year-old has received high praise from his new teammates and has excited the avid fan base about what he may be able to do. Veteran quarterback Eli Manning can't wait to see what the rookie back can do once the team starts using pads, via SiriusXM NFL Radio.

As Manning points out, the Giants have a revamped offensive line with veteran Nate Solder leading the way. Solder won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots while protecting superstar quarterback Tom Brady. The veteran offensive tackle signed a lucrative four-year deal with New York back in March and is expected to make a major impact with the Giants while helping prolong Manning's career and create holes for Barkley.

Last year, the Giants were ravaged by injuries to some of their best offensive players. Odell Beckham Jr. went down with an ankle injury in the NFL preseason and then fractured his ankle early in the 2017 campaign. Veteran wideout Brandon Marshall went down soon after that with a season-ending injury leaving Manning without his best targets in the passing game.

In 2018, the Giants will have a motivated Manning under center with a healthy Beckham downfield, a talented rookie coming out of the backfield and an improved offensive line. It's uncertain how it will all come together, but New York could quickly become a force once again in the NFC if it goes according to plan.
