New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney made headlines when he declined to attend the franchise's voluntary NFL offseason workouts last week. Trade rumors began to swirl around Toney's name, as the second year wideout seemed to ruffle the feathers of the new Giants' regime, led by general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. However, Toney's latest move on Monday may quiet the recent trade reports surfacing around the NFL, as reported by Ari Meirov of Pro Football Focus.
Per Meirov, Toney has reported to the team for the Giants' voluntary workout on Monday. This comes after news emerged that New York wasn't necessarily shopping the Florida product in trades, but that they were “listening to offers.”
One certainly can't blame the likes of Schoen and Daboll if they were irritated by Toney's absence, as this NFL offseason was an important one for the second-year pro, who battled injuries and became known more for his attitude than any plays made on the field.
However, it seems like the two sides are willing to work with each other, which is good news for Giants fans. Toney is talented, as he flashed the kind of upside he has during an October game against the Dallas Cowboys, who surrendered 10 catches for 189 yards to the New York wideout.
Seemingly back in the Giants' good graces, Toney can now focus on getting himself ready for the 2022 season, which will provide him a chance to show he was worth a first-round draft choice this past spring.
