Dwayne Haskins is fresh off of making the decision to leave the Ohio State Buckeyes and enter the 2019 NFL draft. It was a decision that he was expected to make. At this point in time, there is a good chance that he will end up being the top quarterback that comes out of this draft class.

Not only has Haskins decided that he wants to take his talents to the NFL, he also seems to already have his eyes on the team that he would like to play for.

According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Haskins is hoping to play for the New York Giants.

In a profile of Haskins by Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune in December, it was mentioned to Haskins that the Giants needed a quarterback and might be a good place to start his career.

Haskins, who grew up in New Jersey, replied: “I’m hoping for that too.”

New York has been rumored to be interested in drafting a quarterback this year all season long. Eli Manning has been the starter for the Giants for years, but things have not gone well over the last couple of seasons. There are rumblings that the franchise could move on from him if they get a good, young quarterback.

During the 2018 season with the Buckeyes, Haskins put together a big year. He completed 70.0 percent of his pass attempts for 4,831 yards, 50 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. Haskins also scored four touchdowns with his legs.

Standing in at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Haskins is also the ideal size for an NFL quarterback.

All of that being said, New York fans will be ecstatic to hear this news. Haskins could be just the guy to take over for Manning and take the Giants back into playoff contention in the future.
