Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay injury update will frustrate Giants fans

Giants, Kenny Golladay, Saquon Barkley

The New York Giants will be without two of their best players in running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Kenny Golladay when they play the Los Angeles Rams at home on Sunday,

In a brutal injury update for the Giants, Barkley and Golladay have been officially ruled out for their Week 6 game, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. The former is still nursing the scary-looking ankle injury he sustained in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, while the latter is recovering from a knee injury that cost him the second half of the Cowboys contest.

For what it’s worth, Saquon Barkley’s absence is not that surprising given the extent of his injury. While it’s not as serious as his ACL tear in 2020, the injury still looked scary when he got it. In fact, videos and photos of the Giants RB’s ankle quickly went viral since it was really swollen.

As for Kenny Golladay, there were already fears that he might not be able to suit up since suffering the hyperextended knee injury. It was enough to force him out of the game against the Cowboys in the first quarter, and since he was not able to attend any practice throughout the week, the Giants probably saw his absence coming.

Despite that, though, it doesn’t lessen the impact of his unavailability.

In a bit of a good news, though, the Giants will have Daniel Jones available to play after suffering a concussion in Week 5. He was not able to finish the game the last time out after a big hit that left him wobbling, but he is now progressing well in his recovery.
