New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley has been sidelined since September of last year after a devastating ACL injury ended his season prematurely. After a full year of recovery, this superstar player will be back in action, which was music to the ears of many fantasy players. His numbers, especially in the first year of his career, have been fantasy gold and he was, once again, a high draft pick in many fantasy leagues.

However, according to Ian Rapoport from NFL.com, the Giants will ease their superstar back into play. This was somewhat expected, but it must be frustrating for so many players who expected the running back to carry their team this year to hear that he will not play at full capacity right away. This move might pay dividends, as easing him back in will reduce the risk of another injury and will provide Saquon Barkley with an opportunity to slowly get back at the level we are all expecting him to play at.

The Giants will be facing the Denver Broncos in Week 1 and having Saquon Barkley back, even in limited minutes, will be a huge boost for the team. Last season, after losing their superstar early, the Giants went 6-10 and missed the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
