Emory University has anointed the New York Giants as the league's fourth-best NFL fan base. However, the Giants managed to finish in third-place in the NFC East in such a category despite edging out the majority of the league to crack the top five spots.

The Dallas Cowboys came in at No. 1 on such a list while the Philadelphia Eagles are notched just one spot ahead of the rival Giants at No. 3.

“Emory University’s Goizueta School of Business has released its latest NFL Fandom Report, ranking the relative fan strengths of the 32 NFL franchises, and once again, the Cowboys lead the pack,” writes Jay Busbee of Yahoo! Sports. “Right behind them: the Patriots, Eagles, Giants and Steelers. Down at the bottom of the list: the Bengals, the Jaguars, the Titans, the Chiefs (hang on, Chiefs fans, you’ll get your chance) and the Rams.”

The annual poll released by the prestigious Emory University bases its decisions on three different variables — “Fan Equity, Social Equity and Road Equity.”

Despite coming in at No. 4 overall in 2019, it could be a quick downswing for New York as the once heralded NFC East franchise continues its attempt at a rebuild. Although soon-to-be second-year running back Saquon Barkley will now anchor the team's offense, current Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been shipped out of town while aging quarterback Eli Manning remains under center in East Rutherford. As a result, the Giants are not expected to contend with the aforementioned tandem of the Cowboys and Eagles in 2019-20.
