Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks returned to action against the Los Angeles Lakers last week, and he admits it was a good challenge for him playing against LeBron James.

Dillon Brooks missed 21 games in a row due to a MCL sprain. The 22-year-old made his return to the court on Dec. 23 against LeBron James and the Lakers, and Brooks says defending and being defended by James was a good test for him.

While he was rehabbing his knee injury and making his way back into the lineup, Brooks admitted he was playing against the Grizzlies' assistant coaches. To go from that, to playing against LeBron in your first game in over six weeks, is a big change of pace.

“I had coaches guarding me in practice,” Brooks said, via David Cobb of Commercial Appeal. “Then to come out and see LeBron James, uhh, it was a good test.”

The Grizzlies won that game at Staples Center, defeating LeBron and the Lakers by a final score of 107-99. Brooks played 12 minutes in his first game back and finished with two points, two assists and two turnovers.

Brooks had two points in his second game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers in roughly 14 minutes of action. It's clearly going to take the youngster a few games to get back into to the swing of things.

Brooks averaged 11.0 points per game during his rookie season. The Grizzlies were terrible last season but are back to their winning ways this year.
