As if the night couldnāt be any better for Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies guard had a heartwarming moment with his childhood friend following his first career 50-point game.
According to Grizzlies reporter KJ Wright, Morantās friend Davonte Pack said he wants to have the guardās jersey when he drops his first 50-point game. On Monday against the San Antonio Spurs, the 22-year-old did just that with a 52-point explosion.
Naturally, being a man of his word, Morant fulfilled his promise to Pack and gave him his jersey from the contest. The two shared a handshake after, with Ja even saying that heāll be signing the jersey for his childhood friend.
āIām going to sign it for him. That jersey is his,ā Morant said, per Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

Morant has every reason to be happy, though. Aside from the fact that his childhood friend was there, his daughter also watched him. Perhaps having Kaari on the sidelines fueled him even more to go for 50, something that has never been done before in franchise history.
