As if the night couldn’t be any better for Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies guard had a heartwarming moment with his childhood friend following his first career 50-point game.

According to Grizzlies reporter KJ Wright, Morant’s friend Davonte Pack said he wants to have the guard’s jersey when he drops his first 50-point game. On Monday against the San Antonio Spurs, the 22-year-old did just that with a 52-point explosion.

Naturally, being a man of his word, Morant fulfilled his promise to Pack and gave him his jersey from the contest. The two shared a handshake after, with Ja even saying that he’ll be signing the jersey for his childhood friend.

ā€œI’m going to sign it for him. That jersey is his,ā€ Morant said, per Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian.

Morant has every reason to be happy, though. Aside from the fact that his childhood friend was there, his daughter also watched him. Perhaps having Kaari on the sidelines fueled him even more to go for 50, something that has never been done before in franchise history.

The Grizzlies continue to show they are legitimate threats in the West with Morant leading the way, and by the looks of it, they have no plans on slowing down. The rest of the NBA better be careful as well, especially since it seems Ja is looking to drop more 50-piece in the near future.
