The 2019-20 All-NBA teams were announced on Wednesday, and Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has some questions.

Ja, who was named the league's Rookie of the Year, seemed befuddled by the absence of Washington Wizards combo guard Bradley Beal and Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young.

The former No. 2 overall pick of the Grizzlies also posted Beal's and Young's stat lines before asking what the requirements are in order to be selected.

Young seemed to appreciate the shoutout, responding to the Grizzlies rookie with “Game Recognize Game.”

Team success almost certainly played a role in the reason Beal and Young were left off most ballots. The Wizards won just 25 games this year, while the 20-win Hawks were the second-worst team in the Eastern Conference.

Beal and Young also had tough competition at the guard spots.

Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons were selected to the Third Team. Westbrook averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists for the Houston Rockets, while Simmons averaged 16.4 points, 7.8 boards and 8.0 dimes while continuing to excel as an on-ball defender.

Chris Paul and Damian Lillard were named to the Second Team after Paul led a surprising Oklahoma City Thunder squad to the fifth seed in the Western Conference, while Lillard anchored an injury-riddled Portland Trail Blazers all the way to the playoffs.

Defensive liabilities could have also played a major role.

Beal and Young ranked among the four worst defenders at the guard position in terms of defensive rating, per NBA.com. Beal had a career-worst -2.4 defensive box plus-minus, while Young had a -2.3 defensive box plus-minus while struggling to guard slashers.

There is no question Beal and Young had tremendous campaigns. However, the media tend to prioritize winning, and the defensive deficiencies were also likely a black mark on their respective candidacies.

While the young Grizzlies star could certainly argue that the two are snubbed, it is also difficult to remove any player from the final list.
