Memphis Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr. is having a tough time coping with the suspension of the NBA season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Time is also moving slower, apparently.
Jackson took to Twitter on Saturday morning, saying the last two days have felt like âa week:â

Jackson's Grizzlies teammate and point guard Ja Morant has been very vocal about the suspension as well, even joking the quarantining would turn him into a âgamer:â

There is no question all of this has to feel unnatural for the athletes.
The NBA informed all teams on Thursday that players and coaches were to remain in their respective markets and remain home âas long as possible.â
The NBA has informed all 30 teams on policies effective immediately and through March 16, including:
â All players must remain in market of team
â Players remain home as long as possible
â NO group workouts, practices
â Team physicians/trainers speak to each player once a dayâ Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) March 12, 2020
Considering players are used to being constantly surrounded by teammates, media or other team personnel, this is quite a drastic change. Jackson has even more reason to be upset.
The 20-year-old had missed each of the Grizzlies' last nine games due to a right knee injury suffered towards the end of February, though it appeared he was nearing a return.
Of course, the suspension of play will assure Jackson gets back to full health, but he is probably yearning to get back on the floor. The former Michigan State star was having an excellent sophomore season for the Grizzlies, averaging 16.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks while shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc on 6.3 attempts per game.
The suspension will last at least 30 days, at which point the NBA will re-evaluate whether play can resume orâin the worst-case scenarioâthe remainder of the season should be canceled.
