Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley may have already been ruled out for the remainder of the season, but he continues to be around the team, and working his way to recover completely from his injury. Seeing his teammates practice and compete during games has also made him want to play again soon, especially with them enjoying his company.

Head coach J.B Bickerstaff even said recently that he sees the 30-year-old Ohio State product having the “itch” to return to action, as it has been a long time now since he last played for the Grizzlies. He then added, via Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com, that he likes being around the team, and that it also helps his recovery.

Conley has missed all but 12 games this season, as he suffered an Achilles injury. He has since undergone surgery to repair the small bone protrusion in his left heel, leading to the team announcing back in January that he will no longer be able to return in the campaign.

The Grizzlies are having one of their worst seasons in franchise history, and are currently in last place in the Western Conference with a dismal 18-49 record, which is also the worst in the entire league. They are now headed to the lottery, which could be considered as some good news for the Memphis faithful, as the team has a chance of adding a key piece to their fold, and with Conley expected to be healthy once next season starts, will allow them to bounce back from their performance this year.
