The Memphis Grizzlies have dealt with all kinds of issues this year including injuries, and that has led them to have to turn to some unusual suspects to help fill out their team.

Currently, Ben McLemore is away from the team, and Mike Conley Jr. is out for the season, as the Grizzlies didn't have a first-round pick play in Monday night's game against the Spurs, making them the first since the Utah Jazz to fail to play a first-round pick since Feb. 22, 2010.

Even without a first-round pick, the Grizzlies had their most competitive game in a while. The defense stepped up in a big way and they only lost by two points.

The Grizzlies were led by Marc Gasol who put up 23 points against his brother's team. Dillon Brooks who has been a really nice addition to this team added 21 points including 2-of-5 from deep.

This has been a really trying season for the team. It started with a coaching change early in the season and then losing Conley for the season.

They currently only have 18 wins this season and are in the running for the No. 1 overall pick. With their loss to the Spurs on Monday night, that marked 14 straight losses for the team.

The Grizzlies just aren't a very good offensive team averaging only 98.9 points per game which is last in the NBA. Although the defense has been decent this year, if the defense struggles at all, the offense doesn't have enough offensive firepower to overcome it.
