While the Memphis Grizzlies are mad about how Ja Morant sustained his injury on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors, they are not too worried about his condition.

As his Grizzlies teammate De'Anthony Melton said it, they have seen Morant come back from significant injuries before, and they believe this time will not be different.

“We’ve seen Ja heal like Wolverine out there (before),” Melton said, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

Ja Morant sustained his injury late in the fourth quarter of Game 3 after Jordan Poole appeared to grab his knee. He was not able to finish the match and exited the floor while showing some limp.

Of course, the Grizzlies expressed their dismay on how Poole injured Morant. Head coach Taylor Jenkins even asked what the league is going to do about it, especially after they suspended Dillon Brooks for hitting Gary Payton in the face and causing his fractured elbow. Put simply, the team believes it warrants the same punishment.

“He is being evaluated right now. He was going for a loose ball and Jordan Poole grabbed his knee and yanked it. I’m curious to see what happens with that,” Jenkins said.

Meanwhile, Desmond Bane highlighted that it was a “controllable” play and it shouldn't have led to Morant's injury. He called it rather unfortunate that the Grizzlies superstar had to leave the floor.

It remains to be seen if Morant will miss any time because of the issue, but hopes are high he wouldn't.
